BerkiPiano

Hennadii Bezyazychnyi, known professionally as BerkiPiano, is a Ukrainian-born pianist, collaborative pianist, composer, arranger, and music educator based in the Netherlands. His professional life brings together concert performance, collaborative piano, choral work, theatre, dance, composition, and teaching.

He holds Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in Piano Performance from the S. S. Prokofiev Donetsk State Music Academy. His career as a collaborative pianist began during his studies, when he worked as an accompanist in the orchestral conducting class. This experience gave him a strong understanding of orchestral repertoire, ensemble playing, and the relationship between soloist, conductor, and ensemble.

After completing his studies, Hennadii worked as a piano teacher and accompanist at the Uman Music College, combining teaching with concert performance. During this period, he developed the broad professional profile that continues to define his work today: classical pianist, ensemble musician, accompanist, teacher, composer, and arranger.

As a composer and arranger, Hennadii is particularly known for his original piano arrangements of classical works and popular melodies. His published collections are used and performed by pianists in Ukraine and abroad. His arrangements combine respect for the original musical material with a practical understanding of the piano, making them effective both in performance and in teaching.

Today, Hennadii is actively involved in musical life in the Netherlands. He currently works with four choirs: three Prestige Choir ensembles in Gouda, Alblasserdam, and Dordrecht, as well as the Pepperoni Choir in The Hague. Choral accompaniment forms an important part of his professional activity and requires versatility, stylistic flexibility, and close collaboration with conductors and singers.

Hennadii is a regular member of the collaborative piano staff at the annual Crescendo Summer Institute. He also works as a collaborative pianist at masterclasses and educational projects organised by the Davidsbündler Music Academy. Through these activities, he has collaborated with many internationally renowned musicians, including violist Dana Zemtsov, violinist Daniel Rowland, cellist Benedict Kloeckner, and distinguished double bassists Nicholas Schwartz, Rick Stotijn, and Olivier Thiery. This work requires the ability to prepare a wide-ranging repertoire at a professional level, respond immediately to different artistic approaches, and support both established performers and young musicians during intensive lessons, rehearsals, and public performances.

His experience also extends beyond traditional concert and choral work. He has accompanied drama students at Amare Conservatory and has worked at dance masterclasses at Korzo Theater. These projects reflect his ability to work across different artistic disciplines and to respond sensitively to the specific needs of singers, actors, dancers, conductors, and instrumentalists.

Alongside his performing career, Hennadii is the founder of BerkiPiano School, a private music school offering a complete and structured educational programme for students of different ages and levels. The school combines individual piano instruction with regular performance opportunities and organises student concerts throughout the year. Its aim is not only to teach students how to play the piano, but also to develop musical independence, confidence on stage, stylistic awareness, and a lasting connection with music.
